Affiliate disclosure

Some links on HostPenny are affiliate links. Here's exactly how that works and why it never moves a ranking.

HostPenny is free to read, and we fund it partly through affiliate links. When you click certain links to a hosting company and then sign up, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. You pay the same price you would by going to the host directly. This is standard for hosting-review sites, and it's disclosed here and near the links themselves so you always know.

Why commissions never move a ranking

Our rankings are driven by the numbers — intro price, renewal price, lock-in term, money-back window — not by which host pays the most. The clearest proof is our top pick: we rank Hostinger on merit even though it pays affiliates nothing on renewals, which is the number we care about most. When the honest answer is a host that pays us less, or a plan that pays us nothing, that's still the answer we publish. If a commission could ever change a verdict, we would rather lose the commission.

Affiliate links on this site route through a /go/ redirect and are marked as sponsored links for search engines. When you follow one, the host or its affiliate network may set a cookie to credit the referral if you buy. We never see your personal or payment information — only, at most, that a referral converted. We link to a host's normal pricing pages; we do not add fake coupons or claim discounts that don't exist.

Conflicts we disclose

Commission amounts vary by host, and different hosts pay in different ways — some a flat fee, some nothing on renewals. We keep our program details out of the editorial process so the writing isn't tempted by the biggest payout. You can always sanity-check us against the raw figures: our best cheap web hosting ranking shows the intro and renewal price for every host, so you can see the math behind each verdict yourself. If you ever think a commission has skewed a recommendation, email us and we'll show our working.
